‘Big Game’ by Mad Cactus is some straightforward, vocally-oriented Australian rock music. Lead singer Tim Mellonie, who is also a keeper at zoo, wrote these lyrics about “the plight of wild rhinoceros” with the intent of exposing “some of the brutality that comes with the trade of rhino horn.” These guys definitely hold a lot of grunge and other nineties-indebted alt-rock close. They cite Royal Blood, The Black Keys and Soundgarden as major influences. The actual music on here is kind of understated, but the passion and fervor of the lead vocals really carry the track.
