Burnt’s ‘Cheap Carnations’ Is Happy, Tropical Ska with a Reggae Vibe

7 4 18 BurntBurnt’s ‘Cheap Carnations’ is happy, tropical ska with a reggae vibe. This “California-based reggae-rock group… came together in 2002.” Although they were “initially based around Coachella Valley,” they moved “to San Diego in 2005,” before “eventually settling in San Francisco.” The band describes their sound as, “reggae, dub, ska, soul, hip-hop, punk, and acoustic rock,” featuring “environmentally and politically conscious lyrics, as well as songs about partying and relaxation.” This song definitely falls more into the realm of relaxation. The big band vibe these guys create is a lot of fun. There’s a ton of personality in here from each and every musician. This group a lot to offer. Check out ‘Cheap Carnations’ below!
