‘Bicycle Rider’ by Drens is rough, attitudinal German punk rock. “Bicycle Rider is a one minute twenty-six second ride on your bike to space,” the band says, where you’ll encounter, “a collission with the pavement right after losing your backlight [and] driving home with a wobbling wheel.” The guys describe themselves as, “a surf punk four-piece from Dortmund [and] Cologne.” There’s a simple, lo-fi vibe on this track that gives it a real charm. The vocalist’s strong accent adds to the aesthetic really well. These guys aren’t doing anything revolutionary, but this is a strong take on eclectic, brief artsy punk.
