<p><img class=" wp-image-4103 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/7-18-18-beauty-school.jpeg" alt="7 18 18 Beauty School" width="430" height="430" />Beauty School&#8217;s &#8216;Summer with You&#8217; is sweet, straightforward indie with a distinct garage rock sensibility. These Chicago natives describe themselves as, &#8220;sixties meets Pixies with a hint of chillwave.&#8221; The group &#8220;formed in Chicago in late 2015 when two groups of musicians joined forces to pursue their shared appreciation of sweet hooks, simple arrangements, and pithy love songs. Since then,&#8221; they say, &#8220;the group has honed an immediate and upbeat sound, driven by melodic female vocals and by an appreciation for the varied history of women in rock.&#8221; This track feels kind of laid back, but at the same time there&#8217;s a deep sense of angst portrayed through the clear, repetitive vocal approach. Musically, the band doesn&#8217;t seem to be into excessive flourishes of the hand or great derivation from a main motif, but the production on here is solid and everyone in the band clearly knows what they&#8217;re doing.
