‘OG Food’ by The 131ers Is Sparkly Indie with a Bouncy Garage Rock Attitude

8 6 18 The 131ers.jpg‘OG Food’ by The 131ers is sparkly indie rock with a bouncy garage rock attitude. “We used to play more of an acoustic kind of vibe,” the band says, “but people would go nuts at our shows anyway. We decided to give them something that it actually made sense to run around to.” The sometimes subdued, sometimes pulsing guitars, which do a great job of floating under and supporting the lyrical narrative, exist over a throbbing rhythm section. The bass really injects a sense of intensity and flow into the tune and the percussion is both compositionally on point and surprisingly full of personality. Over all of that, the vocal approach is unique, decidedly narrative and a refreshing change of pace from the unenthusiastic approach much of modern indie takes. This is a quality track from a quality band. Check out ‘OG Food’ below!
