‘Empty Mirrors’ by Everyone Loves a Villain Is Slick Electronically-Oriented Metalcore

9 27 18 Everyone Loves a Villain‘Empty Mirrors’ by Everyone Loves a Villain is slick metalcore with notable electro-pop influences. These guys say they are, “an aggressive and cinematic rock band comprised of known and respected members of the Pacific Northwest music scene.” The group is looking “to quickly move beyond its regional scene and make every bit of the impact it is capable of.” Unlike a lot of bands in this vein, this group has really made the electronics a true pillar of their sound. This gives them an aesthetic much more like Enter Shikari or the recent work of Bring Me the Horizon than Attack! Attack! or I Set My Friends on Fire. At the same time, maybe furthering the link to recent Bring Me the Horizon, the vocal approach on here is much more modern radio rock than traditional metalcore. This is an atmospherically immersive, yet deeply punishing track. Check out ‘Empty Mirrors’ below!
