<p><img class=" wp-image-5221 aligncenter" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/10-8-18-loser-points1.jpeg" alt="10 8 18 Loser Points" width="475" height="475" />&#8216;Make It Out Alone&#8217; by Loser Points is sad, melodic pop punk with a skate-oriented, decidedly hardcore edge. On their upcoming full-length, <em>Denial and Error</em>, &#8220;short hardcore blasts are replaced with massive rock hooks, enormous pop harmonies, and unforgettable sing-along choruses.&#8221; They say it &#8220;showcases modern production and mature songwriting, in both scope and topic, that seems unprecedented for a band so shortly removed from their caustic beginnings.&#8221; Obviously, these guys have sweet, saccharine approach to their sound reminiscent of groups like Blink-182 or Sum 41. At the same time, it feels they&#8217;re bringing in some more traditional skate punk influences like Rufio or The Descendents. It might even be possible to trace some lines between the band and the prolific nardcore scene. Under all that, it still seems like the band is indebted to Canadian melodic hardcore mainstays like Counterparts or Comeback Kid. These guys have a well-done, straightforward sound.
