<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5402" src="https://rockthepigeon.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/10-22-18-ithomiid.jpg?w=856" alt="10 22 18 Ithomiid.jpg" width="428" height="428" />Ithomiid&#8217;s &#8216;Earthbound&#8217; is punishingly melodic hardcore with some clear cues from the metal and alt-rock worlds. They describe their approach as featuring, &#8220;introspective lyrics backed with a progressive hybrid of fast paced punk and heavy hard metal.&#8221; These guys are bringing a lot of different things to the table here and cover a lot of ground. At its core, this could be described as a deeply melodic, personally-oriented vein of hardcore like Counterparts or Bane. Much of their guitar work is reminiscent of certain post-hardcore groups like At the Drive-In or Dance Gavin Dance. This is a little rough in terms or production and at times the song feels like it could use more structure, but all-in-all this a really good showing from a new band.
