Pompom’s ‘Skull’ Is Elaborate, Alluring and Dark Electro Pop

11 7 18 PompomPompom’s ‘Skull’ is atmospheric, lightly dark electro pop with a glitzy, uplifting soul. The artist describes this piece as, “an ethereal Halloween trance,” from her “anime-tinged dream pop,” body of work. On top of the solid track, she has made a point of establishing a clear, concerted focus on her image and packaging. The elaborate costumes and bright color palettes give her clear ties the traditional world of pop, but her dark, atmospheric aesthetic helps her form a clear niche. Musically, this piece is defined by whirring, consistent synths layered under and around fleeting, high-pitched vocals. It’s a very alluring track. This is some awesome work from an artist with tons of potential. Check out ‘Skull’ below!
