City of Sound’s ‘The Madhouse’ is crisp, clean alternative rock with a shiny, bombastic pop sensibility. This North Hollywood group of three is “gearing up to release their debut full-length album, Silent Empire.” This piece, the album’s opening track, “boasts the band’s trademark anthemic sound built on earworm melodies, arrangements and hooks.” The band describes it as, “crafted with that theme of reflection in mind and written around a central character, Empire, and her journey to become something greater.” These guys definitely take a lot from U2. The cinematic, almost orchestral approach they take to songwriting is deeply reminiscent off all of the Irish band’s work. This is broadly accessible, but at the same time the brings an intensity to the table that really sets them apart. This is a great track from a solid band. Check out ‘The Madhouse’ below!
