‘Sweater Weather’ by Parks Is Glittery, Groovy Pop Punk with a Clear Warmth

11 24 18 Parks.jpg‘Sweater Weather’ by Parks is plinky, poppy punk music with a groovy warmth. The band says they have “made waves… collecting support slots from the likes of California heavyweights Trash Talk and Australians Hellions and opening NARC Fest Main stage in Newcastle.” They cite bands “from the likes of Title Fight, Basement and Cerebral Ballzy,” as influences. These guys really know how to bring a sense of cheer to a genre defined almost exclusively by negativity. Along with that tendency, the pop influences they bring to the table seem to draw more from the world of indie pop than the orthodoxies of traditional pop punk. This gives the band a more classy, retro-oriented take that goes over really well. This is a strong track from a great band. Check out ‘Sweater Weather’ below!
