Chino Cappin’s ‘Slime’ Is Standard Pop Trap Out of Georgia

Chino Cappin’s ‘Slime’ is clean, anthemic Soundcloud trap out of the Macon, Georgia area. “After dropping out of high school at the young age of 16,” this rapper managed to bring in “listeners with a sound [harkening] back to the Dirty South golden era.” This guy “is known for delivering hardcore lyrics via catchy melodic cadences,” he says, and “his ability to sing to the ladies while also keeping the attention of hustlers and street dudes.” This is just a strong track. It’s not pushing down any categorical barriers or treading any new ground in terms of modern pop rap, but this is a rich, engaging vocal performance coupled with a well-crafted beat. There’s a lot of melody at play in the vocals, and the high-pitched, slurred approach to singing not terribly unlike Li’l Uzi Vert or Juice WRLD works perfectly. This is a quality song from a fast-rising artist. Check out ‘Slime’ below!
