Employer’s ‘Git Off My Property’ Is Downbeat Indie

Employer’s ‘Git Off My Property’ is some sad, downbeat indie rock out of Kansas City. “Originally started as an acoustic bedroom project by singer/guitarist Hopyard Mathison,” these guys say “Employer became a band when Morgan Greenwood and Josh King joined him full-time. Together,” the band “quickly realized how much they had previously missed being creative in a totally free, collaborative environment and vowed to keep their business casual.” This is a very strong track. It’s a sweet, simple affair that latches perfectly onto what this kind of music does best. The casual, personal and generally glum aesthetic these guys traffic in isn’t new to the world of indie rock, but this band does an especially good job of fostering it. Over the spacey, negative aesthetic, the simple-yet-deep lyrics really allow the piece to come together. This is an awesome song from a cool band. Check out ‘Git Off My Property’ below!
