Vandalye’s New Upbeat Sounding Single Reminds Us That We All Have Failures

Vandalye is a rock band out of Dubai. This band has a very distinct sound that is perfectly fitting for pop radio. Combining a catchy hook melody and folky instrumentation Vandalye fits in with the likes of Mumford & Sons, Frank Turner, and The Lumineers. Their song “The Ride” is their latest single to drop and it is quite the ear worm. It’s upbeat in feel although the lyrics could be taken as being a bit pessimistic.

Personally, the song leaves me with an inspirational feeling instead of a depressing feeling. It reminds me to keep going on with life, that life is a ride, and there are going to be failures but that means that you are living your life to the fullest.

Regardless of the takeaway message from the lyrics, the music and melody are great and will surely get stuck in your head.

What does the band have to say about it?

“A bit of a pessimistic song. The Ride discusses failure in life and how at the end of the day there is a big chance you will fail and not reach your dreams, and how we as humans sometimes need to come to terms with that just so we don’t end up bitter. We tried to keep the instrumentation upbeat as a contrast to the lyrics.”
