
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Emcee Monte, from Chicago, IL, is out with a new single titled &#8220;I&#8217;m so Black&#8221; which released on September 25th, 2020. The single is from his EP, <em>Change Gone Come</em> that can be heard on SoundCloud. As many Americans are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to see how the election unfolds, socially conscious music is the battle cry that America desperately needs. This song holds the power to wake people up, encourage people to vote, encourage people to march in Black Lives Matter protests and take other actions to dismantle the system of oppression and end racism in this country. The lyrics celebrate black folks and dive deep into the cultural and artistic gifts that black people have given to the world, such as music. &#8220;I&#8217;m so Black&#8221; is conscious hip-hop at it&#8217;s finest &#8211; it&#8217;s a musical rally, urging people to wake up, and fight for and celebrate black lives.</p>
