“Big City” by TAYLOR ALXNDR (they/she) ft. Breathers sounds like a sound from the 80’s. With synths, upbeat drums, and a melodic voice, the song has a freshness that is alluring for the listener.
There is a lot of room for the song to breathe. The production is limited, especially in the beginning of the song, giving lots of room for the vocals to truly shine. The song picks up the pace towards the chorus section. The chorus section is filled with hope, with big dreams for a life in a fun city with opportunity.
As a queer artist myself, it’s exciting to see other queer artists doing their thing and living their truth!
TAYLOR ALXNDR will soon release their album “1993” which documents the past 4 years of their life. They expand, “I wanted to juxtapose this somewhat heavy subject matter with music that makes people want to move and dance. My favorite type of pop music is music that is dark, sad, or difficult lyrically and bright and fun production-wise.”
