Elijah Blake and Jordin Sparks have done it again with new single and music video for “Deux.”
Born on the island of Hispaniola, also known as Haiti and Dominican Republic, Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Elijah Blake, has collaborated with music heavyweights Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Rick Ross, Ciara, Keyshia Cole, Kehlani and Usher just to name a few.
At the young age of 15, Blake caught the attention of Troy Taylor for his songwriting abilities, and began working on Trey Songz’ Ready album (2009). In 2012, Blake signed with NO ID’s ARTium/DEF JAM imprint, and released his debut mixtape Bijoux 22 in December of that year.
In 2014, Blake’s debut album Shadow & Diamonds was released, lead by the Dej Loaf assisted single “I Just Wanna” surpassing 150 million streams worldwide. In 2016, Blake parted ways with ARTium/DEF JAM and followed his debut with a consistent release of independent projects – Blueberry Vapors EP (2016), Audiology, his second album (2017), Bijoux 23 (2018), 1990 Forever, a joint EP with Jordin Sparks (2019), and Holiday Love (a Christmas EP, 2019).
Blake is currently gearing up to release his third studio album this summer.
His latest collaboration with Jordin Sparks titled “Deux” is nothing short of excellence, giving us everything we want and more. On this track, you’ll find yourself riding on top of a slow and wavy instrumental with Jordin blessing us with her voice and lyricism right off the bat. There were moments of her verse that I couldn’t help but feel myself to the track. By the time Elijah comes in, the track comes full circle and feels immaculate. When you hear Elijah and Jordin singing back to back and harmonizing with one another, you can feel it in your soul. This track has so much replay value that it’s worth an add to all your playlists for months and years to come.
The music video also gives us everything we could want and more, with full on choreography, beautiful shots of both Jordin and Elijah, and more that make the music video a must watch.
