This year, 430 bills have been introduced that target the LGBTQ community. Many of these bills are targeting queer and trans youth. 19 of these hateful bills have already passed into laws. Our basic freedoms to exist are being threatened and stripped from us. We, including allies, must rise up.
The LGBTQ community needs YOU to act up and fight this evil legislation. We need you to march with us. We need you to write to congress. We also need you to use your social media to amplify LGBTQ visibility. We need you to show up for us. The National March for Trans & Queer Youth Autonomy takes place in all 50 states, including Washington, D.C., on March 31st, which is also Transgender Day of Visibility. Each capitol’s march will include marches and speakers.
The march is an opportunity for queer and trans people of all ages and their allies to come together, share their stories, and demand systemic change. The national event includes speakers, performances, and workshops that explore a variety of issues related to the queer and trans youth experience, such as mental health, education, and policing. Through these activities, participants can gain a deeper understanding of the challenges that queer and trans youth face and the ways in which they can take action to support their rights.
We hope you will march with us on March 31st, 2023. We need you more than ever.
Trans and Queer people have always existed, and we will always exist. We will never be erased.
