This meeting sparked an artistic partnership, inspiring them to transform one of Dwaik’s deeply expressive poems into a song. Rooth, along with bandmates Mark and Reilly, crafted a moving musical composition to elevate the emotional power of Dwaik’s words. With the skilled production of singer-songwriter Lauren O’Connell, they recorded “Freedom (Morning Flowers),” a piece rich with layered guitars and a full string section that weaves through the song. Rooth’s evocative vocals resonate beyond the final note, carrying forward a stirring call for freedom, a heartfelt plea for peace, and an urgent cry for ceasefire that lingers long after the music has faded.

“May this song be a flower on your journey. May it be a flower planted within the garden of liberation that exists inside you, whatever state that garden is presently in. May it remind you of your deepest beauty.

Thank you, Badee, for crafting these words from your beautiful soul. Thank you for planting a flower inside of my heart, and many seeds for many flowers which will continue to bloom. Thank you for giving me the indescribable gift of singing your poem as it plants itself within my spirit. You teach me of my power and my smallness and how they come together. You have created within me a gift which I did nothing to earn and yet continuously receive.

I pray this song is planted like a seed within many hearts, a seed of the love and hope of revolution, the love and pain and hope of Palestine.” – Hannah Rooth, Highly Sensitive Gays
