Alex Henry Foster’s latest single from the upcoming album, The Fragile Beauty (Of New Morning Hopes), took absolutely no time to turn me into an immediate fan. Opening with a fuzzy bass line and equally thunderous and crisp guitar leads, the drums beat between the lines of structured and frenetic as the vocals battered away all of my expectations and hesitancies. “Calling Out!” is undoubtedly fantastic rock across any relevant subgenre.
Heightened stakes in the air, singing about secrets, stories, hiding; it all coalesces into a dark chord progression when it begins the dive into the chorus.

Been stuck here but there’s a way out
I don’t know where but I can feel you now
I’ve been so hopeless
It’s time to start it all over again”

That hauntingly gorgeous rasp of Alex Henry Foster’s voice is the perfect touch of distorted vocal tone through a soberingly clear lens of the narrative.

After a final and brief bridge to raise the hairs on your arms, Alex Henry Foster’s lyricism gets a lot more play as it weaves and leans into the story in a new light to echo the beginning:
