5 7 18 Cities‘Some Stuff Gone’, by Cities You Wish You Were From, is some straightforward, well-composed hard rock. The band describes it as, “a roots-rock track about obsession and loss.” The Sacramento-based duo, which consists of singer/guitarist Elijah Jenkins and drummer Tyler Downie, was founded in 2016. Their “simple and powerful sound” is drawn from “their rearing in the Southern Baptist church and family roots in… Tennessee and Oklahoma.” The group’s uncomplicated sound has an authentic, grungy edge, but also possesses the pop sensibility that has made groups like Ghost and Alexisonfire internationally recognized superstars.
