J-Thrill’s ‘Hype’ Is a Funny, Original Take on Trap

5 13 18 J-ThrillJake J-Thrill Bennett’s ‘Hype’ is come tongue-in-cheek, stream of consciousness trap. He says his new album, Emotions, is “a chronological look into what it’s like to release something in today’s digital age.” ‘Hype’, he said, is “about the initial rush of excitement an artist feels after releasing new music.” His simple, synth-oriented track is a good backdrop for his lyrically-dominant style. Bennett’s clear, comical delivery is a nice change of pace in a scene that’s largely been about mumble rap. Clearly, this guy is a wordsmith. Check out Emotions and stream ‘Hype’ below!
