Backgammon’s ‘Other Side of Town’ is dramatically melodic indie rock from Holland. The band says this “is the first new material,” they’ve made since “their eponymous debut album from last year. It sounds a bit more raw, rough and indie than their previous material, with hints of [the] Stereophonics.” The band definitely has a penchant for creating full, deeply engaging soundscapes. All of the instruments are pounding, but at the same time they’re played with a finesse that creates a truly nuanced environment. Of course, the quality, almost operatic vocals are really what make this track whole. They are truly a cut above. These guys are definitely worth a listen. Check out ‘Other Side of Town’ below!
