‘Time Will Pass’ by Modern Mood Swings is gritty, sad punk rock. These Yorkshire natives, ” are fixated with the lyrical analysis of modern life as their music deals with its downfalls. The band’s sound,” they say, “shifts between melodic and gentle to abrasive and dissonant.” The band does a good job of setting a solidly melancholic tone through simple yet precise musicianship and strong, unpretentious production choices. There’s definitely some distinct melodic elements, but they function within the overall structure of the chord progressions in a way that doesn’t mitigate the groove. On top of that, a vocal approach that embodies the band’s essence ties the whole thing together. These guys have a lot to offer. Check out ‘Time Will Pass’ below!
