Djunah’s ‘Built’ Is Ultra-Progressive, Female-Fronted Chicago Hard Rock

6 28 18 DjunahDjunah’s ‘Built’ is untethered, effects-driven progressive rock from Chicago. “We’re a brand-new, heavy, female-fronted Chicago duo,” front woman Donna Diane says. “We have an unusual setup — I play guitar simultaneously with a Moog bass synth (with my feet) and Nick Smalkowski from Fake Limbs plays drums.” Obviously, these guys are consummate musicians, but this project is taking it to another level. Diane’s prolific, Geddy Lee-like multitasking abilities give the project a full, yet deeply personal sound. She’s backed up by Nick Smalkowski’s exceptionally strong percussion work. It’s amazing that two people could create a soundscape like this live. These guys are truly a cut above. Check out ‘Built’ below!
