‘Poison’ by Telescreens Is Warbly, Effects-Driven Hip-Hop with an RNB Sensibility

7 20 18 Telescreens‘Poison’ by Telescreens is warbly, effects-driven hip-hop with an RNB sensibility. This is the New York-based trio’s debut single, which is kind of crazy considering how well-developed and unique it is. “Hailing from London, Newark, and San Francisco,” the group has “played three sold out shows in the past two months,” they say. These guys are definitely on to something. One gets the sense that Lauryn Hill was a big influence on the group’s sound. There’s a laid back, retro vibe here that’s furthered by the crew’s out of the box production decisions. Furthermore, this track’s seamless ability to switch between different vocal approaches is impressive. These guys have a lot to offer. Check out ‘Poison’ below!
