‘Wolves’ by Cysters Is Lo-Fi Punk Rock with a Powerful Low End

8 27 18 Cysters‘Wolves’ by Cysters is gritty, lo-fi punk rock with a really powerful low end-oriented tone. These guys describe themselves as simply, “a rock band from Minneapolis, MN. Formed in 2017, we’ve self-released 2 EPs and will have at least 2 more to come in 2018.” They say they want their “songs to stick in your head and make you move… to be bombastic and beautiful… [and] to hold your hand and crush your skull.” These guys jump right into the body of the track from the get go. It’s a very traditional, straightforward take on punk rock. What really makes these guys stand out are their booming lo-fi production choices. They make for an amorphous yet deeply powerful piece that can really rattle a pair of headphones. The low end on here is especially ballsy. It’s like a good kick in the eardrums.
