Veritah’s ‘Wake Me Up’ Is Lightly Industrial, Distinctly Canadian Hard Rock

8 29 18 VeritahVeritah’s ‘Wake Me Up’ is lightly industrial hard rock with a highbrow, distinctly Canadian vibe. These guys utilize their broad range of influences, spanning “a wide variety of bands, but most notably; Queens Of The Stone Age, Royal Blood, Death From Above 1979, and Muse.” In the aftermath of “their first single, and with a drive to make their mark on the rock market,” these guys say they “have more big things coming up!” This group is definitely well-versed in the parlance of 2000s inland Canadian hard rock. In addition to the obvious comparisons that can be drawn to Death From Above, the group has some stuff in common with acts like Cancer Bats and Alexisonfire. The powerful, sludgy-yet-clear bluesy aesthetic isn’t entirely new, but this is definitely a strong take on it. These guys channel their influences directly, but at the same time they put their own little garage rock spin on it. This is definitely worth a listen. Check out ‘Wake Me Up’ below!
