Little Brother Eli is out with their 4th single of the year, a total banger, titled “Stop Pretending.” The song starts with a synthesizer but quickly shifts to a funky drum and bass groove. The Oxford-based indie band cleverly combines flavors from indie-rock, pop, hip-hop and even new wave disco to create something that gives listeners a fresh experience with music. “Stop Pretending” has a slow feel to it but is the perfect tempo to jam out to and really allows space for appreciating the complex vocal melodies that are both unique and catchy. The songwriting and production style could be compared to the song “Guillotine” by Jon Bellion and Travis Mendes. Regardless of the comparisons one may make, the song “Stop Pretending” is completely creative and is a showcase of an indie band that is bound to catch fire!
