Pedestrian Lifestyle’s ‘If I Surrender’ Is Tight Atmospheric Rock Out of Ontario

12 12 18 Pedestrian Lifestyle.jpgPedestrian Lifestyle’s ‘If I Surrender’ is spacey Ontarian indie rock with a tense pace. “Forming in 2008,” the band says they “slowly began to take shape and put together their own sound. Basing much of their material off of emotional and musical influences to aid their creative process.” Making use of “a tightly wound rhythm section and waves of echoing guitar and vocals, the band blends different styles of alternative music with a very ambient rock feel to create something new and interesting.” These guys are definitely bringing a lot of different techniques and approaches to this track, but it still manages to function as a cohesive soundscape. The guitar work has a strength that really penetrates the mix, but the airy complexity the pulsing rhythm section uses to push this otherwise relatively amorphous track along is impressive. This band really has a good handle on what works. Check out ‘If I Surrender’ below!
