THK’s ‘Chop of a Brick’ featuring Vic Rippa is high-energy, club-oriented rap with a glitzy trap approach. These guys say they try to “to bring a fresh approach… by bringing flavors from different genres, something the audience could hear in DJ mash-ups, but perfectly blended to sound like an original.” These guys do a really good job of creating energy within the context of an electronically-influenced, instrumentally-oriented rap track. Obviously, a lot of thought went into the beat. In the world of EDM, it could probably stand on its own, but the addition of the anthemically laid-back vocals really give the piece a sense of edge and clarity. There’s a lot of really cool stuff happening on here. Check out ‘Chop of a Brick’ below!
