No Win’s ‘Vision’ is a clean, straightforward take on alternative rock with some clear throwback elements. “I worked to the bone on this record,” says Danny Nogueiras, the group’s frontman, “I make this kind of music because I love it genuinely, and I want as many people as possible to enjoy it.” He says that, “this feels like such an important thing… It’s a culmination of so much work and years of doing other things and being in the studio and working with bands and so many different emotions and songwriting and time. It feels great.” Clearly, a lot of thought went into this track. It doesn’t break down genre barriers or anything like that, but it’s a solid, well-composed piece of rock music. In a word, it seems deeply intentional. Every whiny guitar lick and rubbery section of bass accompaniment furthers the semi-urban, highway-crossed vision that Nogueiras puts forward on the band’s new album Downey. This is a top-notch from a cool project. Check out ‘Vision’ below!
