On Nov. 22nd Holy Wars headlined a kick-ass psych-pop/grave-wave show at The Echo put on by Wide-Eyed Presents and The Pretty Cult. It is Wide-Eyed Presents’ mission to promote up and coming artists and get them playing gigs and gaining the exposure they deserve. The fantastic line up they put together including Figs Vision, El Mañana, DRÆMINGS, and Holy Wars played to a sold out venue. For those of you who have never seen a show at The Echo, it’s a laid back music venue with good food, a nice bar, and a spacious dance floor for getting your groove on.
Figs Vision kicked off the night by ushering us into their psychedelic playground with songs from their latest album, “Choo Choo” and other new tracks they’ve been working on. They never fail to deliver a captivating, multi-faceted set that incorporates choreographed dances and elaborate costumes into their on stage performance. There was never a moment where I wasn’t fully immersed in their world. IG: @figsvision
El Mañana took to the stage next. El Mañana is a latin-indie trio from Los Angeles. They moved the crowd with songs from the heart and began their set by explaining how much being able to share their music with their audiences means to them. Their music has a shoegazey vibe with latin influence, and Spanglish lyrics that help them express the duality of being bi-cultural. Their passion for music radiated out of them during their performance. IG: @el_manana
DRÆMINGS kept the momentum of the night going with their self described grave-wave creature pop. They certainly did that description justice. Their set consisted of dark synth-heavy pop tracks and mystical vocals by lead singer, Kimi. Her vocals were as striking as the the bright orange hair she was rocking. IG: @draemings
Holy Wars closed out the night with a strong set of dark-pop rock tracks. It was nothing short of incredible and there was never a lull in the energy that they emitted or the performance they delivered. They also had masked figures dance around on stage during their set which helped to tie night together. IG: @holywarsmusic
