LA-based singer-songwriter, Human Barbie is getting ready for the release of his debut LP. It’s set to drop in the springtime of 2020 on Poor Man Records. To end of the year, Human Barbie has dropped another awesome single “Be Careful What You Wish For” that comes across as sounding very dreamy. The artist describes the song as being “a cautionary tale of failure and rejection.” It’s a slow indie-pop ballad that was recorded on 1/2” analog tape, using only analog techniques for recording and mixing. Human Barbie’s recording process isn’t done quite often anymore, but truly captures the depth and warmth of the instruments and performance. It also proves the musicianship and talent of the players. Feeling a bit like a shoe-gaze song, Human Barbie, has crafted, performed and recorded a song that the listener can drift away in.
