Kris Gruen Covers “The Stable Song” for Vermont Couple’s Wedding

Kris Gruen performs the famous Gregory Alan Isakov for newly weds.

Kris Gruen has a folky guitar strum and a soulful voice making him a great artist to cover Gregory Alan Isakov’s “Stable Song.” Acoustic guitars and pianos lead the song, leading to an incredibly magical feel. Two huge Kris Gruen fans from Vermont, asked Kris to perform at their wedding. Kris was honored and had fun learning the requested songs including “Stable Song.” This was the song that Kris played during the newly weds first dance. He explains the feelings in this great quote:  “The wedding party was beautiful, and when it was time for us to play, the newly weds introduced me to those gathered, saying that my songs were the soundtrack to their relationship. But I knew that it was their shared love of Stable Song that made them sure they wanted a relationship to begin with, so the band and I offered Stable Song for the first dance, and the music served effortlessly to sanctify the moment, the union, the idea of commitment and devotion.”

Kris’s version of the song feels a little bit more upbeat than the original but still carries a feel of being authentic and inspirational.
