Elektragaaz Release New Single “Little Dancer Makes Her Getaway”

Advance Track from the Upcoming “The Synaesthetic Picture Show Now Playing Part 2”

“Little Dancer Makes Her Getaway” is the hot new single release in advance of the new digital Elektragaaz EP “The Synaesthetic Picture Show Now Playing Part 2” dropping on June 8, 2021.

Elektragaaz features cinematic instrumental and electronic music drawing on such far flung cultural influences as classical music, rock, club, techno, hip hop, pop, dance, blues funk, film noir comic books and video games. The group features rising stars and seasoned veterans based in the New York metropolitan area including, among its core contributors, Tom Elektron, Mat Thunder, Kathy Kaos, Jas Windstorm, Kosmik Kate, Josh Firebow and Steel Mike  all headed by a mysterious and intensely private 19 year old Dutch composer using the pseudonym of Poppo Redband but usually referred to as simply Redband. Redband is said to actually see music as well as hear it, to experience the “colors” and “pictures” of music as well as the sound of music as he composes. While Redband rarely comments on his compositions, he has suggested to his producer that “Little Dancer Makes Her Getaway,” is in his mind, a mini-movie of an indomitable young woman faced by mysterious and oppressive forces who dances her way to freedom—a kind of funky feminine anthem as it were. Others, he expects (and hopes) will find their own personal “films” unwinding to the music.

Other contributors to Elektragaaz include Tom McCaffrey, Mathew Muntz, Kathy Sheppard, Mike Nolan, Jasper Shogo Dutz, Kate Amrine and Josh Henderson. Michael Suke Cerulo, Jake Chapman, Lisa Dowling, Luisa Bastidas, Erin Hill and Keve Wilson. The music is arranged and produced by Trebor (“Big T”) Lloyd of City Canyons Productions who most recently produced The Painted Caravan Trilogy for The Peter Ulrich Collaboration headed by ex Dead Can Dance percussionist Peter Ulrich. The new EP, distributed by The Orchard for AIS Records, is the second part of a planned series of EP releases. “Part 1” of the series has gotten a warm reception from reviewers.
