Indie Folk Artist Aubory Bugg’s Hard-Won Emotional Depth on “the one you want to lose”

While once adoringly referred to as the “next Lizzy McAlpine,” that just wouldn’t cover how uniquely exceptional Aubory Bugg is as an artist and performer breaking out in the indie folk scene. Ahead of the highly anticipated debut album, i think i had something once, she’s released an indie folk single that speaks to their loss, love, and story of letting go through moving on with “the one you want to lose.”

“the one you want to lose” is a sensible pop track woven together with the loving embrace of a sturdy and true indie folk softness, showcasing Bugg’s captivating vocals and personal depth. While no heartbreak is planned, few stories sung so fervently will look that loss in the eyes and still declare its open, bleeding heart like Bugg can.
