Company Ink’s ‘Emotion Mafia’ is eclectic rock music with a lot of electronic elements. “Company Ink is a duo,” these Norwegians say, “that combines jangly guitars, punchy drums and melancholy melodies with electronic elements.” These guys have a lot in common with The Garden. This fusion of electronic, pop and melancholy rock elements is definitely a genre space with room for growth – it has a lot of unexplored territory. The crispness of the beats contrasts really well with the effects-driven emotionality of the guitar work. The electronic soundscapes that envelop the piece are subtle, but they do a lot of leg work in regard to filling out the mix. On top of everything, the decidedly sad, personal vocals are poignant and well-performed. These guys are going places. Check out ‘Emotion Mafia’ below!
