Gertie Fox is a rock band that is very dedicated to climbing the music industry success ladder and have been working on their career for nearly 2 decades. Due to their hard work they’ve been able to put out a lot of music and play music to a dedicated fan base. They have released a collection of their songs (recorded back in the 2000’s) on May 16th, 2018 titled “Lost In Time (A Retrospective)” which features a whopping 24 tracks, timing in at 1 hour and 20 minutes. One of our favorite songs from this not-too-long record is titled “The Early Years.” The song stands out from other indie bands because the tone of the lead singers vocals comes off sounding a little like early emo bands such as The Promise Ring or The Get Up Kids. This Gertie Fox song feels melancholy in a way as the lyrics talk about “…older sisters who liked watching MTV…” and repeat “…but it wasn’t a joke back then.” The song is about looking back on the past and having a new perspective that becomes quite humorous as so many years have flashed by. We enjoyed Gertie Fox’s song “The Early Years” and we think you will too:
