Foxbat’s ‘White T(h)rash’ Is Bruising, Funny Kentuckyan Metalcore

8 4 18 FoxbatFoxbat’s ‘White T(h)rash’ is some bruising metalcore out of Louisville, KY with a decidedly tongue-in-cheek approach. These guys have shared the stage with the likes of scene-wide heavyweights including Norma Jean, Knocked Loose and The Devil Wears Prada. They even “have coverage scheduled at Metal Injection in the coming weeks,” they say. At its core, this is some straightforward metallic hardcore, but these guys do a good job of throwing in janky, angular guitar work as well as an entertaining, caricaturesque vocal presence to switch things up a bit. The group has a lot in common with Every Time I Die – especially the way in which they fuse crushing riffs and punishing breakdowns with an erratic, beer-drenched vibe. This group is a lot of fun.
