‘Boot Fillers’ by Lady Bird Is Eclectic, Caustic Rock with a Punk Orientation

9 6 18 Lady Bird.jpg‘Boot Fillers’ by Lady Bird is eclectic, caustic rock music with an irreverent punk rock sensibility. This band’s “boisterous, lairy punk can whip up a riot, but their lyrics,” the band says, “offer an intelligent social commentary founded on progressive ideas.” They describe this tune as, “a rabble-rousing brawl of punk attitude, metallic riffs and holler-along catchiness,” that still “possesses a poetic insight that contrasts the direct rebellion of its sound.” These guys have a deeply narrative quality that does a solid job of communicating clear messages. This song jumps between groovy riff-oriented sections, hard-hitting spoken-work dirges and quiet interludes. The band really brings a lot of different sounds and influences to the table. There’s obviously an orientation toward punk rock, but at the same time it feels like they take some cues from old school hip-hop while channeling a bluesy sensibility. This is a really compelling song from an interesting project. Check out ‘Boot Fillers’ below!
