‘All My Nameless Friends’ by Call Me Malcolm Is Hard-Hitting Reggae Punk

5 18 18 Call Me MalcolmCall Me Malcolm’s ‘All My Nameless Friends’ is some balls-out, hard-hitting reggae punk. The band describes this song as about, “the people we meet at shows and how they help us and each other through difficulties with mental health.” The horns section on here really packs a punch. The dominance of what sounds like saxophones rather trumpets gives ‘All My Nameless Friends’ a more King Crimson feel. The more emotionally-wringing lyrical theme and aesthetic is a nice change of pace in a genre that can often feel disingenuously upbeat. These guys are bringing something new to the table.
