Dr. Ghost’s ‘Tangled in the Trees’ is some melodious punk rock with a poppy, irreverent tone. The group describes itself as an, “LA-based melodic hardcore anarcho-punk three-piece.” This tune is kind of chaotic, but at the same time there’s a sense of structure and purpose. The production is kind of fuzzy and lo-fi, but that really fits the song perfectly. Musically, some comparisons could be drawn between these guys and groups like Operation Ivy or A Wilhelm Scream. Ideologically, they’re more in line with anarcho-punk acts like Crass or Subhumans. This is a good showing from a promising band. Check out ‘Tangled in the Trees’ below!
