Kelsey Waters, now a decade into her music career, is out with a new song and music video that features the Nashville-based Drag Queen Anita Coxx. The video was released on July 1st and Kelsey Waters calls for an extension of Pride Month for the LGBTQ community. She considers herself a strong supporter of the LGBTQ Community and wanted to spread a message of acceptance and hope in her new song. We think the song and video did just that! The song “You Got This” is a pop-rock track with an uplifting an inspirational message for all who listen and watch. The vocals are softly sung but filled with emotion and meaning. The chorus comes across as inspirational and catchy. Kelsey Waters was born in Florida and is currently based in Nashville where country music is thriving. She cites her influences as Jack White, Paramore and Kings of Leon.

“The core message of what I wanted this video to represent is that it’s okay to be your true, authentic self… no matter who that is. At the end of the day, we are all fighting to love ourselves and break out of whatever shell society has built around us. That commonality should bring us together. Chris (Anita Coxx) and I’s roles in the video was our attempt at conveying that. I have been and continue to be an avid supporter of the LGBT+ community and I watch so many of my friends struggle with acceptance. If I can play my part in helping to shine a light on that, I will.”  – Kelsey Waters
