HeartBlanch’s ‘Alive’ is complex, airy Ukrainian indie rock. The band says they, “strive to create indie rock that sounds new and original.” They certainly do that on here. At least to some extent. This is rooted in traditional indie rock tropes, themes and approaches, but the band sets itself apart with strong musicianship and a more creative compositional approach. The guitar work on here is deeply emotive and the use of keys, solid bass lines and textured drums to craft a full soundscape works perfectly. On top of all that, some understated yet truly compelling vocals carry the whole piece through. These guys are true up and comers. Check out ‘Alive’ below!
