Black Bear Rodeo's 'Blue Pencil' Is Rowdy, Eclectic Hard Rock

Black Bear Rodeo’s ‘Blue Pencil’ is rowdy, eclectic hard rock with an untraditional approach. “We strive to create our own unique sound,” the band says. “You’ll hear that in this new tune.” In large part, the group’s active, dynamic rhythm section defines this song. The drums are full of personality and the prominent place the mid-heavy, walking bass lines take in the mix adds up to a lot of fun. On top of that, some traditionally fuzzy hard rock guitars which occasionally veer into untethered experimental territory do a great job of guiding the song and do a lot of leg work in regard to differentiating its various sections.
